Soul Care

Soul Care

Self care isn't selfish.
Self care is a vital part of our day to day lives.  It helps to stop burn out, it encourages us to check in with ourselves, be authentic and reset our mindset when needed; along with many other benefits..

My favourite part of self or soul care is the outcome.  I am always left feeling refreshed, organised, more in touch with myself and have a clearer vision of who I am.

Self care can be as small or as big a part of your day as you want it to be.  Sometimes my self care looks like getting to school 20 minutes early and reading, other days it is as simple as a cup of tea and kind words to myself.

As a part of my self development, whether it be spiritual or to aid my mental health I am trying to incorporate a self care routine into each day..

This includes
- meditating (for as little or long as I feel called too)
- journalling about WHATEVER comes to mind
- lighting a candle and creating an affirmation or intention for myself, sitting for as little as 5 minutes and breathing that intention into my heart space so I can really feel it

These simple things bring me clarity and allow me the space to calm my nervous system, set small goals and release anything I need to.

Other ways to practice self care include saying no when you want to, and yes when you want.. Setting boundaries (something I am working on), oracle or daily affirmation cards, moving your body because it is good for you, eating well because it nourishes you, asking for help when you need it, spending time with people who light you up and fill your cup.  (You can't pour form an empty cup - an age old saying and one I have firmly reminded myself of for years now)

The most important thing you can do for yourself is to take care of your inner peace, by doing so you show the world how you want to be treated, your light can not be dimmed and you will attract other people who resonate with you.

I have prepared a free downloadable 'soul guide' for you to print and use as many times as you like.  We are all on the same journey, trying to find time to get to know and be the best versions of ourselves we can be.  I hope this helps you get to know yourself a little better, help you set goals, practice those little rituals that will help you reset you frame of mind and bring you peace...
